The Shield

    

        When you think of pro wrestling, you most likely think of superstars, ring announcers, commentators, factions, or the audience. We are going to look at arguably the best faction in WWE, The Shield. The Shield was a team of three people. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose. Those three superstars lead WWE for a while. They made their debut on the 18th of November, 2012 and they made their in-ring debut on the 16th of December in the same year.

Every faction is unique in their own way and has their own style. When the trios would enter, they wouldn’t do a normal entrance where you go through the curtains and go to the ring. They would come to the ring from a specific corner of the arena every single time you heard their music. It is now known as the “Shield Corner”. Whenever you hear their music, you should probably look in a corner.

Now don’t think they lasted long because in 2014, Seth Rollins decided to betray the Shield by hitting Roman and Dean with a chair shot to the back. This day was never forgotten in Wrestling Entertainment. Since he turned on the most loved faction at the time, Seth Rollins became a villain. Not a single individual liked him. After turning on the Shield, he joined another faction called “The Authority”. None of them were friends after that, but it doesn’t end there.

In 2017, the Shield reunited because Sheamus, Cesaro, and The Miz were challenging them for a match. They were working together like they have always been together. They destroyed their opponents on that night and most importantly, they got the crowd to jump out of their feet to celebrate. No one had expected the most loved faction in the world to reunite. In Wrestling, you can never say never.

Even though they were not a team anymore, they did have one more reunion which was in 2019. Dean Ambrose’s contract was expiring that year and he was not going to be a part of the WWE forever after that contract expired. So Roman wanted to do a reunion one last time with Seth and Dean. That was the last time we saw the Shield together. There was a mix of emotions that night. Some people cried, some people cheered, some people booed, but at the end of the day, they all cared for them and wished them luck for their future.

Currently, they are focusing on their individual careers. Roman Reigns is now known as the OTC, The Tribal Chief. Seth Rollins is now known as Seth Freakin Rollins. Dean Ambrose is in AEW doing his thing over there in another company. They are all successful and have won numerous championships throughout their wrestling career. They will never be forgotten and will always be remembered for the wonderful moments. Thank you Shield!
